Graphic Design, Art Direction, Social Media Management, Marketing, Copywriting, Video Editing, Event Management, Website Design
With a BA in Design and Marketing from the University of the Sunshine Coast, I have two decades of experience in Australia and South Africa.
I am a positive person with a quietly confident, easy-going nature and the ability to adapt to the skill sets of other team members, complementing their styles and ways of working.
I can take a design project from concept to completion with creative flare while respecting corporate style guides and following the brief. I have a wide range of experience in all print and digital media, working quickly and efficiently, prioritising tasks and managing my time well, so tight deadlines don’t stress me out.
I’ve also travelled the world off my own back, so I know the importance of being reliable and working hard to be a valued asset. My life experience has taught me to adapt quickly, keep learning and solve problems without drama.
Having worked in many industries and countries, I have developed the ability to slot easily into different work environments, respecting cultures and personalities. I pride myself on prospering and maintaining strong and positive relationships with suppliers, colleagues and clients alike, fostering collaboration and cooperation and keeping a sense of humour and positive outlook while I do it.
I am sure my referees will attest to my good nature, personal qualities and abilities.

Multihull Solutions and The Yacht Sales Co are Asia Pacific’s industry leaders offering new and pre-owned sales of the finest brands of power and sailing yachts. As their Brand Manager I oversaw and implemented all aspects of their branding across the Asia Pacific region. This included representing ten prominent yacht brands and fifteen sales centers in nine countries.
This role required an enhanced ability to provide high level design, art direction and communication to support the vision, mission and strategy of the business. I did this through:
May 2013 – Dec 2020 (7 years 8 months)
Chilli Group is a marketing agency that has been on the Sunshine Coast for 25+ years. As the Senior Graphic Designer there, my tasks were wide and varied. Not only was I responsible for graphic design and big idea concepts across digital and print, but I took on roles across the entire marketing agency spectrum.
I worked closely with clients to develop copy and their unique voice.
Mar 2011 – Jul 2013 (2 years 5 months)
At MUDL Magazine I helped launch South Africa’s first-ever mixology magazine.
I was the Lead Designer and Art Director and was responsible for scheduling photo shoots, print runs and independently conceptualising and designing each issue of the 140-page quarterly magazine, yearly annual, pin-up calendar and marketing material.
Feb 2011 – Dec 2012 (1 year 11 months)
Kreate Brands was an importer of cocktail mixes and the sister company of MUDL Magazine.
I was initially employed for Kreate Brands and then given the extra role at MUDL.
I was the sole designer for both Kreate Brands and MUDL Magazine until the second issue of MUDL was released.
We then brought in two junior designers to work under me to help with the Kreate Brands workload.
At Kreate, it was my job to design and develop cocktail menus, point of sale items, event collateral, advertisements and marketing material.
I was also responsible for all traffic and production, organising and co-ordinating printers and ensuring jobs were completed and correct to meet tight deadlines.
When the Kreate Brands design department expanded, we brought an in-house printer, laminator and scorer to allow us to do all of our own printing. I was then in charge of all in-house quotes and production.
As MUDL became busier, I was able to scale back my role at Kreate Brands over time, but was still responsible for managing the two junior designers.
Feb 2008 – Oct 2010 (2 years 9 months)
Colourworks was an Integrated Marketing Agency based in Cape Town, South Africa.
There I worked as the lead, below-the-line designer for Allan Gray (a financial institution), working on their brochures, both printed and digital, plus any special collateral they required and staff event/incentive development and design.
In my last year there, I also became the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon lead designer developing race campaigns, designing and laying out their Race Brochure and Results Books. I also created their advertising campaign and website layout.
Other duties included corporate identity pitches and roll-out, advertising campaigns and event development for clients including SA Rugby, Maserati, Ferrari, MTN and Old Mutual.
At Colourworks, I was taught that design was a hands-on process that required an understanding of all levels of the design process from research to production, and to create a practical, user-friendly design.
Jul 2007 – Dec 2007 (6 months)
The Supreme Court of Queensland Library is the leading law library for the state of Queensland in Australia.
My position there was as a publishing assistant and Graphic Designer. My duties included all book design and book launch advertising.
I was also responsible for promotional material for the Supreme Court Library, Annual Reports, design and layout of the library newsletter, and event design.
Jan 2005 – May 2005 (5 months)

I am more than happy to recommend Sarah Lloyd for any professional opportunity. Her extensive agency and client-side experience along with her versatile skill set are an asset to any business or industry. As an excellent graphic designer, Sarah’s creative talent is just the beginning. She also possesses great all-round marketing skills in both traditional and digital mediums.
For three years, Sarah worked with me to manage the branding and marketing activities for three Asia Pacific yacht sales companies, and her work ethic was a standout. She is incredibly efficient, completing a remarkable amount of work to the highest standard.
Beyond her impressive professional qualities, Sarah is a pleasure to work with. She approaches challenges with a can-do attitude, and nothing is too difficult for her. She is honest, reliable, and a true team player.
Overall, Sarah Lloyd is a highly skilled professional who consistently delivers exceptional results. Her expertise in graphic design and marketing, combined with her strong work ethic, make her an invaluable asset. I wholeheartedly endorse Sarah for any role where dedication and talent are valued.

To Whom It May Concern:
Sarah McLean has worked as a designer for Colourworks for almost 3 years.
During this time, her responsibilities included concepts, brainstorming, design, DTP, managing the process from receipt of brief to execution of job. She always kept a close eye on timing and deadlines to ensure the job was on track.
Sarah has been a true credit to Colourworks. She has been a dedicated, loyal and trustworthy member of this team and is extremely well liked by her colleagues, clients and suppliers. Her work is thorough and her attention to detail good. She is well organised, calm and works well under pressure.
She is skilled at scheduling and juggling projects to meet deadlines.
Sarah has worked on a range of clients including Allan Gray, MTN, The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, KPMG, Old Mutual Corporate Conferences, Ferrari Events and collateral, to mention but a few. She is fully competent on the full Adobe Creative Suite.

To whom it may concern
Let me introduce SARAH MCLEAN
Firstly – who lam.
I am a private enterprise Licensed Consulting Surveyor in practice since 1975 and at one time, I employed 8 men doing survey work, with 2 young women to support them.
For the last 10 years, I have been working entirely on my own. Recently, I became overwhelmed by administrative and drafting work, at the same time that my youngest daughter, Sarah, was looking for part time employment while she completed university. I put her on to give her office and drafting experience and to save her from the junk food industry.
There was some doubt as to whether such an arrangement would work. It did. Now I am in the awkward position of having to write my own daughter a believable reference.
About SARAH
In my business? – beyond my wildest dreams. Of course you could say I am biased.
However:-
with a full team of only 2, Sarah was asked (by her father) to
I got to know her a lot better.
Always bright, always cheerful, competent, and the most versatile lady I have yet employed. No matter how bizarre the task asked of her, she would give a cheerful
‘Okay’, and get on with it.
I realise that, being my daughter, she may have been biased towards being obliging, but then again, she may well have gone the other way. I believe that her attitude was not just induced by the ‘family business’, but is a trait of her personality.
She has recieved a “Jack of all trades” grounding in my business, and knowing her as I do, I believe she will carry her good cheer, willingness, and versatility forward to which ever employment comes her way in the future.
I trust that you will accept this missive in the manner in which it is intended.
Yours faithfully,
Duncan McLean
